At the 2026 Beijing International Auto Show, which opened today, He Xiaopeng, Chairman and CEO of XPeng Group, shared his views on the development of artificial intelligence during a media exchange.
He Xiaopeng stated that over the past three years, significant progress has been made in digital AI globally, particularly in China and the United States. While digital AI is reshaping the virtual world and primarily impacting programmers and content creators, he believes physical AI will bring even broader changes to employment and daily life. For example, intelligent assisted driving systems are making driving easier and may eventually replace many lower-skilled jobs in the future.
He emphasized that physical AI will initially transform the driving profession within the automotive sector. Subsequently, robotics applications are expected to expand into commercial, industrial, and eventually household settings, allowing people more leisure time at home. Flying cars, another area of development, will enable safer and more efficient transportation for the general public. This vision is why XPeng plans to promote the globalization of physical AI over the next decade, starting from China.
