Central New Energy releases 2025 ESG report: HKD11.02 billion revenue, medium- and long-term carbon-reduction roadmap set

Central New Energy Holding Group Limited disclosed its eighth Environmental, Social and Governance report, covering the period from 1 January to 31 December 2025. The group recorded revenue of HKD11.02 billion, up 82.70 % year-on-year, and net profit attributable to shareholders of HKD6.07 million. R&D expenditure reached HKD52.22 million, representing 0.47 % of revenue, and eight additional patents were granted during the year.

The report details a three-tier ESG governance structure led by the board, supported by specialised committees and an ESG Affairs Department. During the review period one shareholder meeting, two board meetings and four committee meetings were held. Female representation stood at 14 % on the seven-member board.

On climate strategy, Central New Energy adopted two emissions targets using 2024 as the base year: a 20 % absolute reduction in Scope 1+2 greenhouse gases by 2035 and a 50 % reduction by 2050. Total emissions for 2025 were 127,330.61 tCO₂e, of which Scope 2 accounted for 127,294.25 tCO₂e. Emission intensity fell to 11.56 tCO₂e per HKD1 million of revenue, compared with 23.59 in 2024.

Comprehensive energy consumption totalled 263.02 million kWh; intensity dropped to 23,873.91 kWh per HKD1 million of revenue. Water use was 2.15 million tonnes, equivalent to 195.50 tonnes per HKD1 million of revenue. Investment in environmental protection amounted to RMB6.19 million.

In operations, the group’s n-TOPCon cell efficiency reached 27.2 %, while ENSOL modules achieved up to 750 W power output and 24.8 % conversion efficiency. Manufacturing upgrades at the Fengtai and Tongcheng bases delivered unit energy savings; pure-water heating optimisation alone cut annual electricity demand by 4.71 million kWh.

Hazardous waste generation was 35.91 tonnes (0.0033 tonnes per HKD1 million of revenue) and 100 % was handled by licensed contractors. Non-hazardous waste totalled 6,285.74 tonnes, yielding an intensity of 0.57 tonnes per HKD1 million of revenue. No environmental violations or product safety recalls were reported.

The workforce numbered 699 at year-end, with female employees comprising 32.05 %. Average internal training time was 25.30 hours per employee. Occupational health and safety investment reached RMB75.83 million; no work-related fatalities or lost-time injuries occurred.

Central New Energy sourced exclusively from 313 Mainland suppliers, 158 of which hold ISO 14001 certification. All suppliers are required to sign quality, environment and safety agreements, and the group’s internal audits recovered RMB1.33 million in improper gains during the year.

Charitable expenditure totalled HKD1.60 million and cumulative public-welfare donations have exceeded RMB90 million. Initiatives included rural PV installations in Anhui, solar street-lamp donations to schools in Shaanxi and winter relief in Ningxia.
