People's livelihoods are no small matter, and every detail counts. Currently, Guizhou is accelerating a series of livelihood projects, including gas pipeline installations and the renovation of old residential communities, to tangibly improve residents' living standards.
**Gas Pipeline Installation: Bringing Safety and Convenience** In Shibing County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, a natural gas pipeline renovation project with a total investment exceeding 40 million yuan is in full swing. The 21-kilometer pipeline will cover the county’s core streets and provide clean energy to 5,506 households across 10 residential communities. The project is expected to be completed by June next year.
Pipeline natural gas not only facilitates daily life but also supports local industrial production. In the Taozhiwan Industrial Park, a stable supply of thermal energy aids green manufacturing. Plans are also underway to construct long-distance pipelines to further expand the gas supply network.
Meanwhile, in Zhenyuan County, an urban natural gas pipeline project with an investment of over 200 million yuan is nearing completion. Covering industrial zones, central urban areas, and multiple old residential communities, the project is expected to meet gas supply conditions by the end of this month.
Resident Tian Jian expressed his anticipation: "Natural gas is safe, convenient, and affordable—I can’t wait to start using it!"
**Old Residential Community Renovation: From 'Having a Home' to 'Having a Better Home'** In Fuquan City, Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, the renovation of old residential communities has significantly boosted residents' happiness. The upgrades address urgent issues such as roof leaks and corridor refurbishments, while also adding elevators and parking spaces where feasible. Greenery improvements and alleyway renovations are also part of the transformation.
Resident Luo Zhangren praised the revitalized environment: "The flower beds and parking lots have been rebuilt, and the surroundings are more beautiful—it’s a much more pleasant place to live!"
Through a "one-community-one-plan" approach, Fuquan City has renovated 45 old residential communities over the past four years, benefiting 1,195 households.
**Smart Streetlights: Illuminating Nights, Warming Hearts** In Wuchuan Autonomous County, Zunyi City, newly installed LED smart streetlights brighten the paths of nighttime commuters. To address aging and insufficient lighting in some urban roads, the local government implemented a smart streetlight renovation project. The new lights are brighter, more energy-efficient, and equipped with intelligent systems for remote control and automatic fault alerts, significantly improving maintenance efficiency.
Resident Xia Zhuqin shared her thoughts: "Before, walking at night felt unsafe without streetlights. Now, the lights are bright and attractive—it’s a real solution to our travel concerns." So far, over 6,000 streetlights have been replaced, with the project expected to be fully completed by the end of this month.
From "reliable gas" to "comfortable homes" and "safe streets," Guizhou is translating its commitment to people's livelihoods into concrete actions, continuously enhancing residents' quality of life.
