According to Woofun AI, Credit Agricole's asset management arm Amundi has officially announced the deployment of a tokenized share class of its flagship product, the "Amundi Core STOXX Europe 600," onto the ETH blockchain network.

This move marks a substantial expansion of the institution's tokenization technology from its previous cash management solutions into the index investment space. As of the end of September 2026, Amundi's total assets under management had reached 2,579 billion euros (approximately 456 trillion yen), reflecting a notable acceleration in its cryptocurrency-related initiatives.

The tokenized share class was introduced following Amundi's French-language announcement on November 5, with the corresponding fund officially named "Amundi Core Stoxx Europe 600 UCITS ETF Acc." Data compiled by Woofun AI shows that the fund's overall assets under management stand at approximately 22.8 billion euros (roughly 4 trillion yen).

It is worth noting that despite the introduction of the tokenized option, the existing traditional investment model remains unchanged, and investors are still free to choose between the two. On the technical implementation side, Amundi leveraged the technology and infrastructure support of CACEIS, a European company under the same group.

Looking back to November of last year, the company had announced the launch of a tokenized share class for money market funds. Money market funds typically invest in highly secure assets such as government bonds, and this latest expansion represents an extension from that business into a broader range of areas.

Amundi plans to gradually develop more types of tokenized funds in response to growing demand from institutional clients and digital platforms. The company noted that tokenization technology enables process automation, improved accessibility, faster settlement, and enhanced transparency, thereby significantly boosting asset management efficiency.

As market infrastructure and regulatory frameworks continue to improve, tokenized share classes will create new opportunities for the digital representation and utilization of assets. By applying tokenization technology to index funds, Amundi is striving to build a bridge connecting traditional finance with digital finance, marking another key strategic move in its asset tokenization journey following money market funds.
