According to the latest market intelligence report on China's AI-native office agent platforms for the second quarter of 2026, TENCENT's WorkBuddy has achieved a significant milestone. In June, its monthly visits on the domestic PC platform exceeded 20 million, solidifying its top market position and surpassing the combined total of its two closest competitors.
The report's data indicates that the Chinese PC-based AI-native office agent market experienced rapid expansion in June 2026, with total visits surpassing 60 million. TENCENT's WorkBuddy led the industry with 20.97 million monthly visits. Another AI programming agent from TENCENT, CodeBuddy, also maintained a strong position among the market leaders.
As an AI-powered efficiency agent, WorkBuddy is designed for immediate use without complex deployment or downloads. It understands natural language commands and can autonomously plan tasks, operate local files, and deliver results across multiple platforms including PC, WeChat Mini Programs, and mobile apps.
Since its initial release in early March 2026, WorkBuddy has undergone frequent updates to enhance user experience. It has integrated leading large language models such as Hunyuan, DeepSeek, Zhipu GLM, and Kimi. The platform has introduced features like a skills center, an expert mode, and automated scheduled tasks. It has also launched a knowledge base capability, seamlessly connecting with TENCENT's ecosystem products like Tencent Docs. The service supports task assignment and execution through major instant messaging channels like WeChat and WeCom and has obtained trusted certification from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, ensuring its security and controllability.
TENCENT's financial report for the first quarter of 2026 highlighted that, based on daily active user counts, WorkBuddy has become the most popular efficiency AI agent service in China.
