Stock Track | Tradeweb Markets Plummets 10.21% Intraday as Q2 Revenue Misses Estimates and Sequential Growth Slows

Stock Track07-30

Tradeweb Markets Inc. shares plummeted 10.21% in Thursday's intraday session, intensifying earlier pre-market losses after the electronic trading platform reported second-quarter financial results that fell short of revenue expectations.

The company posted Q2 revenue of $558.9 million, missing the consensus analyst estimate of $562.4 million. While the figure represented roughly 8.9% year-over-year growth, it marked a sharp decline from the $617.8 million recorded in the first quarter. CEO Billy Hult attributed the sequential slowdown to more normalized market volatility compared to Q1, despite strong volume growth across the multi-asset platform. The revenue miss and significant sequential drop overshadowed an adjusted earnings per share beat of $0.97 versus the $0.95 estimate, a 16.7% dividend increase, and $188.9 million in share repurchases.

Investor sentiment soured as the top-line results failed to meet Wall Street's projections, with the magnitude of the quarterly revenue decline raising concerns about the pace of growth ahead. The company maintained its full-year 2026 adjusted expense guidance, but the near-term revenue disappointment drove the significant sell-off.
