China Construction Bank Approves Sun Xiaokun's Nomination as Executive Director

On April 9, China Construction Bank (CCB) announced a resolution from its board meeting. The meeting reviewed and passed the proposal to nominate Mr. Sun Xiaokun as an executive director of the bank. The board agreed to nominate Sun Xiaokun for the position and also approved his appointment as a member of the Board's Strategic Development Committee and Risk Management Committee. His term for these committee roles will align with his tenure as an executive director of the bank.

According to his resume, Sun Xiaokun was born in July 1968 and is a Chinese national. He has served as Deputy Secretary of the CCB Party Committee since March 2026. He holds the professional title of Senior Economist. Sun received a Bachelor of Science degree from Fudan University in 1990 and a Master's degree in Economics from Jinan University in 2004.

From September 2023 to March 2026, Sun served as Vice President of the Agricultural Development Bank of China. Between May 2023 and September 2023, he was General Manager of the Information Technology Department at China Development Bank. From August 2020 to May 2023, he held the position of Chairman of CDB Securities Co., Ltd. Prior to that, from April 2019 to August 2020, he served as Director of the Inspection Work Leadership Group Office at China Development Bank. Between May 2017 and April 2019, Sun was Chairman of the Board of Supervisors at CDB Securities. From June 2016 to May 2017, he served as Chairman of the Board of Supervisors at China-Africa Development Fund Co., Ltd. Between October 2010 and June 2016, he held various positions at China Development Bank, including Deputy Director of the Risk Management Bureau, Deputy Director of the Information Technology Bureau (concurrently serving as Director of the Data Operations Center), Deputy Director of the Information Technology Bureau (concurrently serving as Director of the Development and Testing Center), and Deputy Director of the Human Resources Bureau.
