The first export shipment of photovoltaic equipment from the Hohhot Comprehensive Bonded Zone was officially completed on May 13th. The cargo, loaded onto a China-Mongolia TIR international truck convoy, has successfully commenced its journey. This batch of equipment will be delivered directly to Mongolia, supporting the steady advancement of the local power supply security efforts.
This inaugural cross-border export and dispatch of PV equipment marks a significant achievement for the Hohhot Comprehensive Bonded Zone. It demonstrates the zone's proactive service to the national strategy of opening up to the north, deepening economic and trade exchanges and cooperation with Mongolia, and assisting local enterprises in exploring the Mongolian market. The smooth progress of this operation not only effectively reduces the cross-border logistics time for new energy enterprises and lowers logistics costs but also establishes a convenient channel and opens a new pathway for local and domestic new energy equipment manufacturers to steadily enter the Mongolian market. It has successfully created a pioneering example for Hohhot's new energy equipment exports to Mongolia via TIR cross-border transport, characterized by "local customs declaration, closed-loop process, and rapid transit." This has thoroughly established a highly efficient land-based logistics corridor connecting the autonomous region's capital's new energy industry with the Mongolian market.
Reportedly, the exported PV equipment includes core new energy components such as photovoltaic modules and inverters. These components possess core functionalities including high-efficiency solar energy conversion, DC to AC power conversion, and intelligent voltage stabilization and power distribution, enabling the direct transformation of solar energy into clean electricity with zero pollutant emissions throughout the production and usage processes. The shipment is expected to arrive directly in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, within two days. It will provide stable, safe, and efficient power supply for local government administrative bodies, effectively meeting the electricity demands of the local population and strongly supporting the improvement of local livelihoods and the promotion of green, clean energy.
As a crucial hub platform for the autonomous region's opening up to the north, the Hohhot Comprehensive Bonded Zone is capitalizing on the major opportunity presented by the establishment of the China (Inner Mongolia) Pilot Free Trade Zone. It is fully leveraging the advantages of various overlapping policies. Relying on the "Hohhot-Ulaanbaatar" TIR international transport corridor, the zone provides export enterprises with a full-chain, one-stop professional service package, including bonded warehousing, customs declaration and inspection, compliance checks, cross-border logistics coordination, and full-process dynamic supervision. It fully utilizes the institutional advantages of TIR international transport—"single inspection, passage along the entire route, full-process bonded status, and door-to-door direct delivery"—to comprehensively enhance the efficiency of cross-border cargo customs clearance and transit, effectively reducing burdens and increasing efficiency for enterprises.
Building on the successful implementation of this operation, the Hohhot Comprehensive Bonded Zone is further constructing a land-based cross-border logistics system for connecting the new energy industry with the Mongolian market. This effectively drives the coordinated expansion overseas of upstream and downstream enterprises in the local new energy industry chain, such as PV module and energy storage equipment manufacturers. It promotes the deep integration of the new energy industry cluster development in the autonomous region's capital with the national strategy of opening up to the north, precisely aligning with the overall deployment of the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor construction. This provides solid support for deepening the interconnection of energy infrastructure between China and Mongolia and strengthening the foundation for regional industrial and supply chain collaborative development.
Moving forward, the Hohhot Comprehensive Bonded Zone will continue to improve the cross-border international logistics system, continuously enhance its service capacity for opening up, inject strong momentum into the high-quality construction of the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor, and demonstrate the responsibility of the autonomous region's capital while contributing the strength of the comprehensive bonded zone to serving the new development paradigm of domestic and international dual circulation.
