The Beijing Municipal People's Government has officially released the "Beijing 14th Five-Year Plan for High-Precision and High-Tech Industry Development," outlining a comprehensive strategy for the aerospace sector that aims to bolster the nation's space ambitions and elevate the city's industrial capabilities in space technology.

The plan places a strong emphasis on accelerating the growth of the commercial space industry. A key focus will be on achieving technological breakthroughs in reusable rockets and high-thrust engines, which are considered critical for reducing launch costs and increasing launch frequency.

Furthermore, the strategy calls for strengthening the mass production capacity of satellites and their key components and subsystems, ensuring a robust supply chain for the country's large-scale constellation projects. In parallel, Beijing aims to foster the development of differentiated commercial satellite constellations, moving beyond a one-size-fits-all approach to meet diverse market demands.

Beyond infrastructure and manufacturing, the plan highlights the need to improve the services and applications derived from space technology. This includes enhancing the efficiency of satellite data development and utilization, cultivating a vibrant ecosystem for satellite Internet of Things (IoT), and actively promoting the integration of the "BeiDou+" and "+BeiDou" spatiotemporal applications across various industries.

In the broader aerospace field, the plan also sets out goals for the development of new-energy aircraft and encourages innovation in airspace equipment and aerospace vehicles. To round out the industrial chain, it underscores the importance of strengthening the manufacturing of key aviation components, as well as expanding capabilities in aviation material support and maintenance services.
