SHOUGANG LANZA (HKEX: 02553) shares have surged again, gaining more than 14%. At the time of writing, the stock is up 13.78% to HK$35.84, with a turnover of HK$24.63 million.
The rally follows a significant announcement from Google and American Airlines, who have signed what is described as the largest public agreement for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) between an airline and a corporate end-user. The partnership aims to unlock 35 million gallons of SAF, which is projected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 300,000 metric tons.
In related developments, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) has called for coordinated action across four priority areas to accelerate the scaling up of SAF production.
According to Frost & Sullivan, based on 2025 data, SHOUGANG LANZA is the largest company globally in the CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage) sector that utilizes synthetic biology technology.
The rapid expansion of the global SAF market is seen as creating significant opportunities for the CCUS industry. The company's prospectus reveals plans to construct a sustainable aviation fuel facility in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, with operations expected to commence in 2027. This move is anticipated to open up long-term growth avenues by extending the company's industrial chain.
