The National New Energy Storage Innovation Center, the only national manufacturing innovation center in China's new energy storage sector, is located in Baiyun New Town, Baiyun District, Guangzhou. The center received official approval from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology at the end of 2024, injecting strong momentum into the development of Baiyun District's new energy storage industry.
Since 2024, more than 50 new energy storage enterprises have successively settled in Baiyun, driving the industry scale to exceed 20 billion yuan. In recent years, Baiyun District's new energy and new energy storage industries have developed rapidly, forming a diversified industrial landscape encompassing new energy storage, hydrogen energy, solar energy, biomass energy, natural gas, and other sectors.
Solar products manufactured in Baiyun District are exported to over 100 countries, with global deployment of more than 50 overseas offices. Foreign merchants continue to engage in negotiations at the Canton Fair, and solar cell production increased by 72.4% in the first half of this year.
Chen Yingtao, Deputy Director of Guangzhou Baiyun District Development and Reform Bureau, stated: "In the first half of this year, Baiyun District's new energy and new energy storage industry achieved a scale of 34.567 billion yuan. In the future, we will vigorously promote the industry scale to break through the trillion-level."
The rapid growth reflects the district's commitment to becoming a major hub for renewable energy production and innovation, with solar energy companies like Cecep Solar Energy Co.,Ltd. contributing to the sector's expansion.
