Amazon Expands Healthcare Footprint with GLP-1 Drug Accessibility Initiative

Deep News04-10

Amazon Pharmacy will stock Foundayo at One Medical kiosks and offer same-day delivery, providing Eli Lilly with extensive distribution channels. The company announced that its pharmacy division will supply Eli Lilly's newly approved weight-loss medication Foundayo at select One Medical primary care clinic kiosks, accompanied by same-day delivery services. The tablet formulation does not require refrigeration, enabling broader distribution compared to injectable alternatives.

Amazon will fulfill Foundayo prescriptions through Eli Lilly's LillyDirect platform, which prices the lowest self-pay dosage at $149 monthly. Orders placed through Lilly's prescription partners, including WeightWatchers, will also qualify for same-day customer delivery. Approximately half of U.S. customers currently have access to same-day delivery, with remaining customers receiving medications within four days. The kiosk program isn't a new initiative—since January, Novo Nordisk's oral Wegovy tablets have been available at five kiosks in California.

Amazon has invested over $4 billion in 2025 to expand delivery coverage, targeting service availability across 4,500 regions by the end of 2026.
