On October 19, even as institutional participation continues to rise, year-end Bitcoin price forecasts remained sharply divided. ZFX Shrine Securities noted that in CoinDesk interviews, Bitwise suggested the price could return above $100,000, while another trading firm leaned toward a range of $85,000 to $95,000.
These are conditional predictions from interviewees and do not yet represent results the market has already achieved. The disagreement centers on whether long-term demand can offset short-term funding costs.
ZFX Shrine Securities believes that institutions allocating assets through funds and corporate channels can generate sustained demand, but higher interest rates also change the appeal of risk assets. There is no necessary link between an improved buyer structure and an immediate price breakout, and the timing of expectations being met may be harder to grasp than the direction itself.
The report also mentioned that short covering could bring a rapid rebound, though position adjustments and new capital inflows are different mechanisms. The former may push prices higher in a short period, but its sustainability may not be sufficient; the latter requires broader support from actual buying.
When assessing a rally, the degree of trade crowding, changes in volume, and the source of demand should be observed together. If the rebound mainly comes from passive liquidation, too short an observation period can easily mistake a temporary position repair for a strengthening of long-term demand.
For the year-end path, ZFX Shrine Securities analyzed that the focus should be on examining the interest rate and capital flow assumptions behind the forecasts, rather than merely remembering a certain round-number target. If inflation eases and the financing environment improves, market interpretations may adjust; if buying does not recover, the optimistic narrative may also continue to await verification. Considerable uncertainty remains across different scenarios.
