Jinan Kaiyuan Road project moves forward, aiming to open by late 2026 and connect four core areas: New East Station, Shengfu, High-tech Zone, and CBD

Deep News10-22

Recently, the Kaiyuan Road (Gongye North Road to Hanyuan Avenue) road construction project in Jinan is progressing in an orderly manner, and the swivel cable-stayed bridge crossing the Jiaoji Railway and Jiaoji Passenger Dedicated Line has reached a key milestone. The swivel construction is planned for late October, and the project as a whole is expected to be completed and opened to traffic by the end of 2026, opening up this important "dead-end road" in the eastern urban area.

Kaiyuan Road (Gongye North Road to Hanyuan Avenue) spans Lixia District and Licheng District and is positioned as an urban secondary road, with a total length of 2.67 kilometers, linking Gongye North Road, Zhonglin Road, and Huayuan East Road.

To cross the two important railway trunk lines, the Jiaoji Railway and the Jiaoji Passenger Dedicated Line, the project innovatively adopts swivel cable-stayed bridge construction technology to minimize interference with railway operations.

After the road is put into use, it can divert traffic from Aoti Middle Road and Fenghuang Road, effectively easing traffic pressure on major roads in the eastern area.

This road will connect Jinan New East Station, Shengfu, the High-tech Zone, and the CBD, four core areas, improve the regional road network's microcirculation, and greatly shorten residents' cross-railway commuting time.
