think the market has reached the end of the \"liquidity wave,\" though he called on the Federal Reserve to begin tapering its asset purchases.\nOn the Fed, El Erian, who's also the current president of Queens' College, Cambridge, said too much stimulus can eventually \"break things\" by encouraging the misallocation of capital and inflating asset bubbles.\nAs a result El Erian thinks the central bank should have already begun its tapering process, arguing that it would be better to start a more gradual process earlier than \"have to slam on the brakes\" later.\nAs to the market's reaction to an eventual hawkish move by the Fed, El Erian said long-term investors might see a controlled program of tightening as a good thing.\nHowever, he thinks it will be hard to avoid a negative market reaction to a Fed tightening since so many investors are \"surfing the liquidity
