US Private Sector Employment Rises by 62,000 in March, Exceeding Expectations

A report from ADP showed that US private sector employment growth in March surpassed economists' forecasts. According to data from the ADP Research Institute and the Stanford Digital Economy Lab, private sector employment increased by 62,000 in March, compared to the economists' expectation of a 40,000 gain. The increase for February was revised to 66,000. Forecasts from 25 economists ranged from an increase of 33,000 to 96,000. Goods-producing sectors added 30,000 jobs. Service-providing sectors added 32,000 jobs.
