Voyager Technologies, Inc. saw its stock price surge 5.21% during intraday trading on Monday following the announcement of a significant collaboration with Red Hat for space-based edge computing infrastructure.
The company has partnered with Red Hat to deploy Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.1 and Red Hat Universal Base Image on Voyager's LEOcloud Space Edge IaaS micro datacenter aboard the International Space Station. This collaboration targets in-orbit, edge computing for AI-ready workloads, with the aim of reducing latency and operating costs by processing data directly on the space station rather than downlinking it to Earth.
The deployment utilizes an immutable, container-native operating model with post-quantum cryptography positioned as a core security layer for space-based workloads. Additionally, the companies plan to extend terrestrial DevSecOps workflows to orbit using Podman container engine and Ansible Automation Platform to support hybrid cloud operations from ground to space.
