On August 27, Guizhou Radio and Television Network Media Group formally signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Beijing Volcano Engine Technology Co., Ltd., marking a pivotal step in their joint pursuit of artificial intelligence-driven growth. The partnership leverages the distinct resources of both entities to explore and expand the digital intelligence technology sector, ultimately serving to bolster the high-quality development of Guizhou's digital economy.
The collaboration will center on deep engagement across AIGC, AI Coding, intelligent agents, computing power, and large-model MaaS services. Guizhou Radio and Television will spearhead the deployment of related AI industrial applications tailored to its local business landscape, while Volcano Engine will contribute its extensive technical expertise and resource advantages in large models, the Internet, big data, cloud computing, and live streaming, offering supporting products such as models, AI development tools, and AIGC tools alongside technical support services.
Zhou Kai, a member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of Guizhou Radio and Television Network Media Group, noted that sustained exchanges and in-depth discussions throughout the year have fostered a solid foundation of mutual understanding and trust between the two sides. This groundwork has led to the establishment of a comprehensive construction framework integrating "data, models, applications, computing, electronics, and transmission." Zhou emphasized the Group's strong commitment to this partnership, viewing it as a critical driver for accelerating its digital and intelligent transformation, supported by a dedicated task force overseeing progress, conducting specialized AI business research, and undertaking on-site study visits in Chengdu.
This signing represents a significant milestone in deepening bilateral cooperation. Going forward, both parties will consolidate their collaborative efforts to promptly resolve challenges in project implementation, ensuring that initiatives take root and yield tangible results. Huang Hui, another Party Committee member and Deputy General Manager of Guizhou Radio and Television Network Media Group, highlighted that Volcano Engine, as a core technology engine of ByteDance, possesses leading large-model capabilities and mature commercialization expertise. Meanwhile, Guizhou Radio and Television, as a key player in the province's cultural and media sector, brings multiple core strengths to the table. The complementary advantages of the two organizations open up vast possibilities for cooperation and promising prospects ahead.
Yang Luyun, head of Volcano Engine's Southwest region, outlined the company's operational profile and technical capabilities while expressing enthusiasm for the partnership's potential to tap into markets across Guizhou and other southwestern provinces. Volcano Engine will deliver models, AI development tools, AIGC tools, and other supporting products and technical services to Guizhou Radio and Television Network Media Group as stipulated in the agreement. With this signing as a starting point, the two sides will focus on building application scenarios for government services, commercial use, and public welfare, positioning the Guizhou Large Model Aggregation Integrated Service Platform as the province's core gateway for the AI industry and a benchmark for AI-driven audio-visual innovation, thereby contributing to the growth of Guizhou's digital intelligence economy.
The signing ceremony was attended by Wu Xin, Volcano Engine's head for Guizhou, and Solution Architect Shuai Shengpeng, alongside Guiyang Radio and Television Network Deputy General Manager Gong Yuanyuan, and members of the Guizhou Large Model Aggregation Integrated Service Platform task force, including Yu Hao, Tan Li, and Mao Shaojin.
