Humanoid Robots' Home Arrival Timeline Questioned by Baidu Executive

Deep News10:32

At the "Advancement and Leap of Humanoid Robots" sub-forum during the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2026, held from March 24 to 27 in Boao, Hainan, the topic of humanoid robots entering daily life was discussed. Shen Dou, Executive Vice President of Baidu Group and President of Baidu Intelligent Cloud Business Group, expressed that deploying embodied intelligence in homes should be the final step, representing the highest demand on its capabilities. In contrast, industrial scenarios are more standardized, while home environments present greater challenges.

Shen Dou indicated that it is uncertain whether this goal can be achieved within ten years. However, he assured that costs will significantly decrease, eventually reaching a level affordable for household consumption. He emphasized that cost is not the most critical issue; instead, standards, safety, and product performance require attention. According to him, this is a matter for the next decade, leaving ample time for refinement.
