JL MAG’s 2025 ESG Report Highlights Decarbonisation Progress, R&D Expansion and Workforce Investment

JL MAG Rare-Earth Co., Ltd. released its fifth ESG report, detailing accelerated carbon-reduction measures, record R&D spending and broader social commitments for the year ended 31 December 2025.

Carbon strategy and green operations • Total Scope 1 + 2 emissions were 206,512.75 tCO₂e; carbon intensity fell 7.97 % year-on-year. • Green electricity consumption reached 136.60 million kWh, representing 29.93 % of total power; the Baotou plant sourced 73.45 % of its electricity from renewables. • Roof-top PV systems at three sites generated 9.22 million kWh, cutting a further 4,890 tCO₂e. • Rare-earth recycling rose to 3,681 tonnes, while a new wastewater metal-recovery project reclaimed 62.70 tonnes of rare-earth oxalate.

Resource and pollution metrics • Energy consumption totalled 480,425 MWh; water use was 1.80 million tonnes. • Hazardous waste treated reached 1,471.88 tonnes, non-hazardous waste 21,149.98 tonnes; all disposal was 100 % compliant.

Innovation and intelligent manufacturing • R&D expenditure climbed 57.60 % to RMB 506.00 million (6.55 % of revenue); 144 patents were granted. • Capital spending on automation and intelligent upgrades was RMB 414.80 million, with 653 industrial robots deployed and 11 automated lines completed. • GBD technology accounted for c. 90 % of output, underpinning magnets for NEVs, wind power and VFACs that enabled an estimated 68.44 million-tonne CO₂ reduction for customers.

Workforce development • Total headcount rose to 7,302; training averaged 178.06 hours per employee with 100 % coverage. • Employee compensation reached RMB 899.00 million, up 20.43 %. • Safety spend increased 38.08 % to RMB 200.34 million; no work-related fatalities occurred. • New A-share employee stock ownership plan and H-share restricted share scheme covered about 500 staff.

Supply-chain and governance • All 3,237 suppliers signed anti-bribery and good-faith agreements; ESG audits covered 95 % of operating units. • ISO 14064, ISO 14021 and ISO 45001 certifications were maintained across major facilities; the company passed the second TISAX information-security audit.

Community impact • Cash and in-kind donations totalled RMB 3.63 million, including RMB 1.00 million for Hong Kong fire relief and continued university scholarships worth RMB 5.14 million since 2012.

Outlook JL MAG reiterated its target of achieving full life-cycle carbon neutrality for selected products by 2030 through expanded green-power procurement, recycling capacity and green-factory construction, while sustaining high R&D intensity to support growth in NEV, wind and robotics end-markets.
