New 200MW/400MWh Grid-Side Energy Storage Project with LFP Batteries Announced in Chuzhou, Anhui

A new grid-side independent energy storage project has been announced in Chuzhou, Anhui province. The project is a significant development in the region's energy infrastructure.

The project, named the Nanqiao District 200MW/400MWh Grid-Side Independent Energy Storage Project, is being developed by Chuzhou Qiaochu New Energy Co., Ltd. The facility will utilize lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery technology for its energy storage system.

The total investment for the project is reported to be 650 million yuan. This includes a specific allocation of 3.95 million yuan designated for environmental protection measures, which accounts for approximately 0.61% of the total budget.

An environmental impact assessment report for the project was published for public review on June 25th by the Chuzhou Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment. The proposed site for the construction is located in Nanqiao District, Chuzhou City, Anhui Province.

The planned facility will be a 200MW/400MWh electrochemical energy storage power station. In addition to the battery storage system, the project includes the construction of a supporting 220kV booster station and the installation of a new 240MVA main transformer, which will be situated outdoors.

Chuzhou Qiaochu New Energy Co., Ltd., the entity responsible for the project, was established in February 2024. The company's chairman is Liu Changchun. Its primary business operations focus on energy storage technology services, technical promotion, and wind power technology services, with a specialization in the development and application of new energy technologies.

The ownership structure of the company shows that state-owned enterprise Anhui Xingqiao Industrial Investment Group Co., Ltd. holds a 70% stake. The remaining 30% is owned by Anhui Dikang Power Technology Co., Ltd.
