Kiu Hung International Holdings Ltd. (AOM INT'L) has released its 2022 Environmental, Social and Governance report, detailing progress and targets across environmental, labour and governance dimensions for its principal toy and gift manufacturing business in Putian, Fujian, and Hong Kong.
Environmental Performance • Total greenhouse-gas (GHG) emissions fell to 667.52 tCO₂e, down 32.26% from 2021. Emissions intensity improved 1.80% year on year to 2.28 tCO₂e per HK$ million revenue, supported by lower electricity consumption and tighter vehicle-use controls. • Direct energy use declined 24.26% to 131.88 MWh, while electricity purchases fell 12.11% to 1,050.84 MWh. Overall energy intensity dropped to 4.04 MWh per HK$ million revenue, compared with 5.19 in 2021. • Air-emission metrics improved sharply: nitrogen oxides (NOx) fell 61.85% to 26.72 kg; particulate matters (PM) sank 87.07% to 0.86 kg. • Water consumption was cut 19.64% to 47,583 m³, reducing intensity to 163.32 m³ per HK$ million revenue. • Hazardous waste totalled 620 kg, up from 537 kg, with a new five-year plan in place to cut hazardous-waste intensity. Non-hazardous waste decreased 9.79% to 2,235 kg.
Targets and Governance The board-led ESG Taskforce has set five-year intensity-reduction goals covering GHG, energy, water and both hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Climate-risk scenarios aligned with TCFD guidelines have been integrated into enterprise risk management, addressing both physical threats (extreme weather) and transition risks (regulatory changes such as China’s “dual-carbon” policies).
Workforce and Safety • Headcount rose to 335 (308 in mainland China, 27 in Hong Kong). • Overall staff turnover was 33.13%, little changed year on year. • Training reached 91.94% of employees, averaging 3.63 hours each. • No work-related fatalities, injuries or lost working days were recorded for the third consecutive year.
Supply Chain and Product Quality • The Group worked with 233 suppliers (231 in mainland China, 2 in Hong Kong), all subject to environmental and social risk screening. • Manufacturing maintains ISO 9001 and SGS Consumer Products certifications; no product recalls or material customer complaints occurred in 2022. • Data-privacy, intellectual-property and anti-corruption frameworks remained intact, with all 335 employees completing four-hour integrity training.
Community Engagement Kiu Hung donated RMB 0.10 million to charitable initiatives in Putian and continues to encourage staff participation in local community programmes.
The company affirms that all reported ESG data align with Hong Kong Stock Exchange Appendix 27 requirements and reflect its commitment to continuous improvement in sustainable manufacturing.
