ICBC Chairman Liao Lin Meets with UK-China Business Association Chairman Sir Sebastian Wood

On February 2, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) Chairman Liao Lin met with Sir Sebastian Wood, Chairman of the UK-China Business Association (CBBC), in Beijing. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including the macroeconomic landscapes of China and the UK, ICBC's strategic business layout within the United Kingdom, and avenues for enhancing bilateral economic, trade, and investment cooperation. The meeting was also attended by ICBC Vice President Zhang Weiwu, CBBC Chief Executive Officer Peter Batey, and representatives from Schroders.

ICBC places significant emphasis on the UK market, actively leveraging its international and comprehensive strengths to facilitate economic, trade, and investment flows between the two nations. In September 2025, ICBC co-hosted the "Investing in the UK" ancillary forum at the 25th China International Fair for Investment and Trade in partnership with the CBBC, injecting fresh momentum into deepening bilateral investment collaboration. ICBC is committed to earnestly implementing the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries and will strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the CBBC. By utilizing multilateral platforms such as the China-Europe Business Alliance, the bank aims to enhance information sharing and resource alignment, providing comprehensive financial solutions for corporate cooperation in green development, technological innovation, high-end manufacturing, and other key sectors, thereby supporting the healthy and stable development of China-UK economic and trade relations.
