Shares of gold and silver mining companies advanced in premarket trading on Wednesday, supported by rising spot prices for the precious metals. Spot gold increased by 0.76% to $5,184.5 per ounce, while spot silver surged more than 4% to $90.77 per ounce. At the time of writing, Barrick Mining Corporation (B.US) was up more than 1.2%, Newmont Mining (NEM.US) rose 0.92%, and Agnico Eagle Mines (AEM.US) gained over 1%. First Majestic Silver (AG.US) climbed more than 3%, Fortuna Silver Mines (FSM.US) advanced over 2%, and Pan American Silver (PAAS.US) increased nearly 2%.
