According to the website of the Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, the department, along with several other authorities, has jointly issued the "Work Plan for Stabilizing Growth in Shandong's Nonferrous Metals Industry." The primary objectives outlined in the plan are to be achieved by 2026, including a year-on-year increase of approximately 5% in the value-added of the province's nonferrous metals enterprises above the designated size. The production of cathode copper is targeted to reach around 1.7 million tons, representing a growth of about 3%, while the output of copper processing products is expected to hit roughly 600,000 tons, marking a 4% increase.
The plan also sets a goal for the total output value of the copper industry to surpass 200 billion yuan. Key performance indicators such as the comprehensive energy consumption of copper smelting and the comprehensive recovery rate of associated metals are intended to lead the industry. Additionally, the aluminum industry is projected to achieve operating revenues exceeding 660 billion yuan, with more than 35% of electrolytic aluminum production capacity meeting or surpassing the benchmark energy efficiency standards.
