ARK Invest, led by prominent US investor Cathie Wood, has disclosed its trading activity for September 21st, with the most notable moves being a significant purchase of Meta shares and a reduction in its CrowdStrike position, alongside further adjustments to its holdings in healthcare technology and internet-related assets.
The firm acquired a total of 51,477 Meta shares through three of its exchange-traded funds—ARKK, ARKW, and ARKF—valued at roughly $34.27 million, marking one of the largest single-day purchases of the session. On the selling side, ARK offloaded 28,403 CrowdStrike shares through ARKW and ARKF, amounting to approximately $6.75 million.
Healthcare and biotech remained a key focus for ARK’s buying activity that day. The ARKG fund purchased 102,565 shares of Beam Therapeutics, worth about $2.56 million, and added 100,241 shares of Ionis Pharmaceuticals, valued near $4.45 million. It also bought 74,878 shares of Veracyte, totaling about $2.98 million. Additionally, ARKG increased its position in Scribe Therapeutics by 61,858 shares, an investment of roughly $2.04 million. These companies are primarily concentrated in fields such as gene editing, genomics, and precision medicine.
In the technology and internet sector, ARKW purchased 29,587 shares of Airbnb, valued at approximately $4.92 million. Conversely, on the divestment front, ARKW sold 59,265 shares of Everpure, totaling about $6.17 million, while ARKG exited 32,284 shares of 10x Genomics, worth nearly $2.47 million, and 12,536 shares of Twist Bioscience, valued at around $2.09 million. ARK also trimmed a small position in the ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF, selling 29,705 shares for approximately $199,000.
Overall, ARK’s trading focus that day was clear: it significantly boosted its stake in Meta, continued to expand holdings in select gene-editing and precision-medicine firms, and reduced its exposure to CrowdStrike along with certain genomics and other technology assets.
