China Gas Industry Investment Holdings Co. Ltd. (CGII) has appointed Mr. Chen Tianyi as a non-executive director, with the appointment taking effect on 18 August 2026.
Mr. Chen, aged 37, holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University and brings close to a decade of combined technology and investment experience. He co-founded Morewisdom (Shanghai) Private Equity Fund Management and is an executive partner at Yanran (Hainan) Investment Management Partnership. His prior roles include Application Engineer at ALTA DEVICES (May 2016 – September 2019) and Senior Application Engineer at autonomous-driving firm Glydways, Inc. (November 2019 – August 2021). Since February 2023 he has served as general partner of Shanghai Jitailai Enterprise Management Consulting Partnership.
CGII will enter into a three-year letter of appointment with Mr. Chen. He will hold office until the next annual general meeting and will be eligible for re-election in accordance with the company’s articles. His annual director’s fee is set at HK$0.60 million, subject to periodic review by the board and its remuneration committee.
As of the announcement date, Mr. Chen holds no shares or other interests in CGII or its associated corporations under Part XV of Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Ordinance. He has no other listed company directorships in the past three years and no relationships with CGII’s directors, senior management, substantial shareholders or controlling shareholders.
Following his appointment, CGII’s board comprises: • Executive Directors – Song Jiajun (Chairman), Song Changjiang, Sun Changhuan • Non-Executive Directors – Li Jun, Zhang Wenli, Chen Tianyi • Independent Non-Executive Directors – Siu Chi Hung, Xiao Huan Wei, Li Chun Elsy
The board extended a formal welcome to Mr. Chen upon his appointment.
