As a powerful cold wave grips many parts of the country, the natural gas supply guarantee has entered a critical phase. On January 21, the daily gas supply volume of the national trunk natural gas pipeline network managed by the National Pipeline Network Group reached 1.1 billion cubic meters, setting a new historical record for a single-day supply peak. Recently, northern, central, eastern, and southern regions of China have experienced precipitous temperature drops, leading to a sharp surge in natural gas demand. As the primary operator of the national energy pipeline network, the National Pipeline Network Group proactively increased the pipeline inventory to over 3.6 billion cubic meters and ensured the high-capacity operation of its 8 self-owned LNG receiving terminals, thereby solidifying the resource foundation for supply during the cold wave. In response to the demand fluctuations caused by the cold spell, the Group has strengthened coordination and联动 with upstream and downstream partners, closely aligning with the needs of shippers and end-users. It is comprehensively managing resource balancing and the integrated operation of stations, pipelines, and storage facilities, while precisely optimizing the scheduling of gasification and outward transmission from national LNG terminals and withdrawal from storage facilities. Currently, the 19 LNG receiving terminals connected to the national pipeline network have a daily average outward transmission volume of nearly 300 million cubic meters. Simultaneously, 17 interconnected storage facilities are withdrawing gas, with a daily injection into the network of nearly 200 million cubic meters.
