Following the launch event for the NIO ES8 large five-seater version, NIO Inc. founder, chairman, and CEO William Li, along with co-founder and president Qin Lihong, held a dialogue with the media.

Market sales data reveals that in May of this year, NIO Inc. outsold the German luxury trio of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi (BBA) in 48 cities and regions across China. Regarding pricing, the average transaction price for the NIO brand in May was ¥382,200, already exceeding that of BBA and other premium brands. This figure climbed further to ¥443,000 in June, indicating a widening lead.

Li stated that this signifies NIO has not only achieved success in sales volume but has also comprehensively surpassed BBA in terms of average selling price.

He also mentioned that, concerning the origin of NIO ES8 users, over 68% are from existing owners of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and Porsche who are adding a vehicle to their household. This percentage becomes even higher when including users from other second-tier luxury brands. "Our users often joke that the next stop after BBA is NIO," Li added.
