Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) Chairman Ma Shih-hang stated during a speech at the inaugural Hong Kong Embodied AI Industry Summit that Hong Kong, serving as a "super connector" and "super value-adder," possesses unique advantages of being backed by the motherland and connected to the world. He emphasized that Hong Kong is the optimal platform for mainland AI enterprises to expand globally.
He noted that Hong Kong's top-tier professional services are ready to support national AI companies in their overseas ventures, helping AI become a new growth driver for foreign trade. Ma mentioned that this year marks the beginning of the country's 15th Five-Year Plan. As a core member of the "Going Global" task force, the HKTDC launched the "Go Global with Ease" initiative last month to assist mainland enterprises and brands in expanding overseas steadily.
From "Made in China" to today's shift toward "Created in China," the nation's industrial competitiveness is continuously reaching new heights, with over 6,000 artificial intelligence enterprises. Ma further pointed out that the HKTDC is actively aligning with the 15th Five-Year Plan to strengthen Hong Kong's role as the preferred platform for companies going global.
The international exhibitions and conferences organized by the HKTDC have consistently served as effective platforms for enterprises. For instance, last month's Hong Kong International Innovation and Technology Expo and Spring Electronics Exhibition attracted numerous mainland tech companies, including Unitree Technology, one of the "Hangzhou Six Little Dragons," and UBTECH (09880) and Zhongqing Robotics from the "Shenzhen Eight Guardians," showcasing cutting-edge achievements and solutions.
