Air China (00753) reported a 0.90% year-on-year decrease in overall passenger capacity (measured in available seat kilometers) and a 3.00% year-on-year increase in passenger traffic (measured in revenue passenger kilometers) for January 2026. On domestic routes, capacity decreased 2.00% year on year, while traffic rose 2.60%. International capacity grew 1.50% with a corresponding 4.20% increase in traffic, and regional capacity declined 0.80% with a 1.80% rise in traffic. The passenger load factor stood at 82.20%, up 3.20 percentage points from the prior-year period.
In cargo operations, cargo capacity (measured in available freight tonne kilometers) declined 3.90% year on year, while cargo and mail traffic (measured in revenue freight tonne kilometers) recorded a 4.40% gain. The cargo load factor reached 35.60%, representing a 2.80-percentage-point increase from a year earlier.
The company introduced a four-flights-per-week Beijing Capital–Abu Dhabi route and a seven-flights-per-week Beijing Capital–Luzhou route in late January 2026. Three A320 series aircraft and one A330 aircraft were retired during the month, bringing the fleet size to 960 aircraft as of the end of January 2026.
