Japan's Sharp has officially stepped into the AI server business, responding to the growing infrastructure needs driven by the widespread adoption of generative AI.
The company will target enterprises, local governments, research institutions, and data center operators with AI servers equipped with NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) technology. Orders will open across Japan starting September 15, with commercial sales slated for the fiscal year 2027.
A Sharp statement highlighted that the move aligns with the accelerating demand for AI-related infrastructure as generative AI becomes more prevalent in various sectors.
