Deep News08:11

On May 25, the 22nd Shenzhen Cultural Industries Fair concluded. Over the five-day event, the Guangdong delegation hosted 69 activities and organized 51 professional buyer groups. Exhibiting companies were evenly split between manufacturing and services, showcasing the province's integrated development in these sectors within the cultural field. On the same day, the Guangdong Provincial Committee Publicity Department held a signing and results announcement ceremony for key cultural industry projects at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. The event saw the centralized signing of 22 major cultural industry projects, which are expected to drive over 10 billion yuan in direct investment. Notably, projects involving collaboration with other provinces increased significantly compared to previous years, reflecting Guangdong's leading role in building a unified national market.

These projects align closely with the provincial "1310" strategic deployment and represent significant outcomes one year after the implementation of the high-quality cultural industry development "policy package." They are characterized by three main features: technology empowerment, cross-border integration, and a global perspective.

In the film and television sector, the focus is on "content as the core, technology as the wings" to promote Chinese culture globally and disseminate legal culture. Shenzhen Tiantian Growth Film & TV, in partnership with Beijing Yitian Culture and Qingmu Tianfeng Digital Technology, is establishing the "Greater Bay Area Sci-Fi and Science Popularization IP Incubation and Global Operation Center" to facilitate Chinese culture's international reach. The legal drama "Investigation Bureau," a joint production by China Media Group and Zhuyi Group, aims to create a legal education matrix combining judicial content, mainstream dissemination, and public discourse. The "Exploring the Origins of Chinese Civilization" short series, a collaboration between Southern University of Science and Technology and Zhuyi Culture, uses AI technology to reconstruct 5,000 years of civilization based on archaeological research, strengthening cultural confidence.

In animation, efforts are centered on "IP revitalization + education empowerment" to merge traditional culture with digital education. Guangzhou Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and Guangzhou Jizhankaiwu Culture are developing trendy toys, cultural products, and digital tourism scenes around the "Zhongshan Qiao" IP, already present in 150 stores across eight cities. Yingde Red Flag Tea Factory is collaborating with Jizhankaiwu to create the "Tea Xiaoqi" IP, revitalizing industrial heritage to upgrade the tea industry. The nation's first comprehensive AI platform for primary and secondary school literacy will provide AI educational resources to 185,000 schools and 200 million students nationwide, potentially generating industry revenue in the hundreds of billions.

In online gaming and esports, the emphasis is on "technology for good + international competitions" to drive industry innovation and global influence. The "Game & Anime Theme Park" in Yangcheng Creative Industry Park has launched, creating a 60,000-square-meter youth cultural ecosystem. 37 Interactive Entertainment, in partnership with Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University, is developing a public welfare mini-game for Alzheimer's rehabilitation training, combining gamified exercises with AI algorithms to explore new opportunities in the silver economy. Guangzhou Sport University and Zhuoyuan Virtual Reality are establishing the "Greater Bay Area Digital Sports R&D Center" to cultivate talent in digital sports.

In the performing arts market and online audiovisual sector, the focus is on "scenario innovation + digital empowerment" to stimulate new consumption vitality. The 2026 Guangzhou Strawberry Music Festival, themed "On! Holiday!," will blend art and technology to create an immersive youth cultural hub. Zhongguancun Yigu and Nuanshan Network are launching an "Art Music Therapy Research Program," offering seniors new experiences combining cultural tourism, wellness, and AI creation. Platforms like the "Ranmenggu" AIGC one-stop short drama creation tool and the "Spark Shenzhi Anime Creation Engine" were showcased, using AI to reduce content production costs and promote short drama exports and global distribution.

Four representative projects from the signing were presented in roadshows, demonstrating Guangdong's cultural industry innovation through breakthroughs in "technology + content + scenarios." Among them, the AI education platform, as the nation's first comprehensive AI platform for primary and secondary literacy, aims to revolutionize basic education. The animation "Mecha God Squad," benchmarked against "Transformers," is scheduled for simultaneous domestic and international release within the year, expected to generate 10 billion yuan in industry chain revenue. The 2026 "Naraka: Bladepoint" World Championship, with a total prize pool exceeding 10 million yuan, will hold its finals in Guangzhou in December, integrating cultural, commercial, tourism, and sports activities to create a global esports spectacle. The XPL2026 CS2 Guangzhou International Professional Invitational, an official VALVE Tier 1 event with a $1 million prize pool, will take place in Guangzhou in July, marking the highest-level CS2 competition in the Greater Bay Area.

**Spotlight on a Key Project: The Game & Anime Theme Park** The "Game & Anime Theme Park" co-creation project in Yangcheng Creative Industry Park drew significant attention at the signing ceremony. Located in Guangzhou's Tianhe District, the project is a collaboration between Yangcheng Creative Industry Park, the Tianhe District Committee Publicity Department, and the Guangzhou Game Industry Association. It is designated as a key project in Guangdong's gaming and esports sector and a landmark digital cultural initiative for Guangzhou.

The project will partner with leading local game and anime companies such as Guangzhou Shenlan Interactive, Guangzhou Kuro Technology, Guangzhou Tianwenjiaochuan Anime, Guangzhou Firefly Anime Culture, and Guangzhou Lightbox Power Culture, alongside cultural creators like renowned music producer Wu Huan. It aims to establish a digital cultural and creative hub and a core engine for trendsetting culture in the Greater Bay Area.

Positioned as a "24-Hour Vitality Anime Co-living Circle," the park will develop along three distinctive paths: First, deep integration of "Guangdong-style Anime," blending Cantonese culture with anime creativity to develop original IPs like "Yang Xiaoxian" and "Yue Xiaodian." Second, revitalization of old factory areas, preserving industrial heritage while upgrading it with anime art. Third, "B2B2C" collaboration, balancing corporate empowerment with public consumption for mutual value enhancement.

In the future, the Game & Anime Theme Park will build an anime ecosystem integrating IP incubation, overseas product displays, immersive experiences, trendy consumption, industry empowerment, and international industry exchanges. It plans to host four major annual IP events: "Yue Anime Carnival, Midsummer Night EDM Festival, Guofeng Anime Festival, and New Year's Light Festival." The park will also leverage top-tier IP resources to host high-end digital entertainment forums, establishing regular platforms for industry exchange and consumer experiences.
