NetEase, Inc. announced the formal adoption of electronic dissemination for all future corporate communications in accordance with Rule 2.07A of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange’s expanded paperless listing regime that became effective on 31 December 2023.
Key points:
• Coverage of documents: Electronic delivery now applies to the directors’ reports, annual and interim accounts (and any summary versions), notices of meeting, listing documents, circulars and proxy forms.
• Access channels: Both English and Chinese versions of every subsequent corporate communication will be posted on the company’s investor-relations website (http://ir.netease.com) and the HKEXnews portal (http://www.hkexnews.hk). Shareholders must proactively monitor these sites for updates.
• Distribution of “Actionable Corporate Communications”: Materials requiring shareholder instructions—such as election forms or proxy documents—will continue to be sent individually either in printed form or by email, depending on each shareholder’s stated preference, and will also be posted online.
• Solicitation of email addresses: To receive Actionable Corporate Communications electronically, registered shareholders are encouraged to submit a functional email address via the enclosed reply form or by emailing NetEase.ecom@computershare.com.hk. If no valid email is supplied, printed copies of actionable documents will be dispatched until an email address is provided.
• Printed copy option: Shareholders may still request hard-copy corporate communications by completing the reply form or emailing the share registrar. Each request remains valid for one year from receipt and must be renewed thereafter.
• Contact details: Queries should be directed to Computershare Hong Kong Investor Services Limited on +852 2862 8688 during business hours.
The initiative aligns NetEase’s shareholder communication practices with HKEX’s ongoing move toward sustainability and operational efficiency through paperless reporting.
