Data from customs authorities reveals that China's exports of mechanical and electrical products reached 7.58 trillion yuan during the first five months of the year, representing an 18.4% increase.
Exports of labor-intensive products totaled 1.61 trillion yuan, marking a 3.1% decline, while agricultural product exports amounted to 300.79 billion yuan, showing a 1.6% growth.
On the import side, purchases of mechanical and electrical products stood at 3.54 trillion yuan, up 25.3%.
Crude oil imports for the period totaled 218 million tonnes, reflecting a 4.8% decrease.
Imports of agricultural products reached 618.16 billion yuan, registering a 7.6% increase.
