Hong Kong New Energy Vehicle Stocks Plunge with LEAPMOTOR, XPENG, and NIO Down Over 5%, Gold Shares Widespread Decline

In afternoon trading on March 3, major Hong Kong stock indices continued to decline. As of 13:30, the Hang Seng Index recorded a slight drop, while the Hang Seng Tech Index fell more than 1% and the Hang Seng Biotech Index dropped over 2.6%.

New energy vehicle stocks in Hong Kong experienced a broad downturn. LEAPMOTOR, XPENG, and NIO all declined more than 5%. XIAOMI-W fell nearly 4%, LI AUTO-W dropped over 2%, and GAC GROUP decreased more than 1%.

The nonferrous metals sector led the losses. Stocks such as MMG and Ganfeng Lithium fell more than 8%, while Jiangxi Copper and ZIJIN GOLD INTL declined over 6%. JL MAG Rare-Earth dropped more than 5%, and China Molybdenum and Zijin Mining Group both fell over 4%.

Gold-related stocks saw widespread declines. Mengjin Yuan fell nearly 9%, with Zhufeng Gold and ZIJIN GOLD INTL dropping over 7%. Lao Pu Gold declined more than 5%.
