On May 25th, a comprehensive health and safety event titled "Caring for New Forms of Employment Workers: Safeguarding Health and Safety Together" was held at the Junxi Taihe Community Union Station in Fengnan District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. The event, organized by the Fengnan District Federation of Trade Unions in collaboration with the District Health Bureau, the District Committee Social Work Department, and the Qingnian Road Sub-district Office, provided practical first-aid training and free health consultations directly to workers.

The venue featured multiple functional areas, drawing active participation from numerous workers in new forms of employment. Medical professionals from the Fengnan District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine demonstrated essential first-aid skills such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the Heimlich maneuver, and methods for stopping bleeding from wounds, tailoring their instruction to the specific work environments of these industries. A separate consultation team offered complimentary health services including blood pressure and blood glucose checks, traditional Chinese medicine consultations, and dermatological diagnoses, providing targeted advice on common issues like cervical/lumbar spine problems and hypertension.

A legal advisory desk was also set up on-site to disseminate knowledge on laws including the Civil Code and the Labor Contract Law, offering support for workers' rights protection. To conclude the event, the trade union distributed care packages to attendees, conveying the warmth and care of the organization as a supportive entity for workers.

This integrated initiative combined first-aid training, health consultations, legal education, and compassionate care, directly addressing the pressing concerns of gig economy workers regarding health protection, emergency response, and rights safeguarding. Moving forward, the Fengnan District Federation of Trade Unions plans to continue focusing on the practical needs of these workers, regularly providing targeted and considerate services to enhance their sense of fulfillment, well-being, and security.
