On November 8, the BC2-2 conveyor overpass steel structure, part of the National Energy loading system expansion project at Zhuhai Port's Gaolan Port Area undertaken by CCCC First Harbor Engineering Company, was successfully installed.
The steel structure spans 38.4 meters in length, 5 meters in width, and 3.7 meters in height, with a total weight of approximately 47 tons. It serves as the critical link between the T18 transfer station and the newly added loading system, marking the final major lifting operation for the project's steel structure installation.
To ensure safe and smooth execution of the lifting operation, temporary road closures were coordinated with municipal traffic authorities. The project team also notified the public transport center to suspend relevant bus routes during key lifting periods, effectively safeguarding road traffic safety.
The BC2-2 conveyor overpass steel structure was assembled on-site and lifted as a single unit. Strict safety and quality controls were implemented before and during the operation. Pre-lifting preparations included high-strength bolt inspections and non-destructive weld testing to meet maritime construction standards. Safety briefings were conducted for elevated work personnel, riggers, and crane operators, while cranes and lifting equipment underwent thorough inspections to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
During the lifting process, a restricted zone was established with dedicated personnel monitoring to guarantee operational safety.
