The World Bank Group has revised down its growth forecast for the Philippine economy next year to 5.2%, though it anticipates a rebound in investments as the central bank resumes its easing policy. In the mid-year edition of the Philippine Economic Update, the World Bank stated: "The baseline scenario projects that economic growth will recover to 5.2% in 2027, supported by a stabilizing governance environment, a gradual recovery in public investment, and the resumption of the Philippine central bank's easing policy." This latest 2027 growth projection is lower than the 5.6% forecast given in the June Global Economic Prospects report.
The World Bank noted: "In the baseline scenario, as investment returns to normal levels and financial conditions ease, economic growth is expected to converge towards its potential rate between 2027 and 2028." The World Bank projects the Philippine economy to grow by 3.7% in 2026.
