China's official gold reserves climbed for the 22nd consecutive month, signaling sustained central bank buying activity.
As of the end of August, the country's gold holdings stood at 76.73 million fine troy ounces, equivalent to approximately 2,386.57 metric tons. This marks a monthly increase of 650,000 ounces, or roughly 20.22 tons, according to the latest data.
The persistent accumulation underscores Beijing's ongoing strategy to diversify its foreign exchange reserves and bolster financial security amid global economic uncertainties.
