On April 25, NIO introduced the new ES8 Xuanjin Special Edition at the Beijing Auto Show. The vehicle is priced at 456,800 yuan, while the battery-as-a-service (BaaS) purchase option reduces the price to 348,800 yuan. Display models of the special edition ES8 have begun arriving at NIO showrooms nationwide.
Externally, the ES8 Xuanjin Special Edition features an Extreme Night Black exterior finish, complemented by a dedicated black chrome trim package, newly designed 22-inch forged Xuanjin Star wheels, and golden brake calipers. Roof rail guides come as standard. The interior debuts a new Yadan Orange theme with exclusive detailing, though a Su Mu Red interior option is also available. Starting immediately, the Yadan Orange interior can be selected across all versions of the new ES8 for an additional 8,000 yuan.
Olympic champion Wu Minxia appeared at the NIO booth as the first owner of the special edition model, receiving the keys directly from NIO founder, chairman, and CEO William Li.
Public data indicates that the new ES8 achieved 100,000 deliveries within 215 days of its launch, setting a record for the fastest delivery milestone among Chinese-branded vehicles priced above 400,000 yuan.
On April 23, William Li personally handed over the 100,000th new ES8 to Jiang Zheyuan, founder and chairman of Beijing Songyan Power Technology Group Co., Ltd., at the NIO Experience Center in Beijing's Future Science Park.
In the first quarter of 2026, retail sales of the new ES8 reached 45,160 units, ranking first in the large SUV segment across 77 cities in China and leading the market for vehicles priced above 400,000 yuan in 48 cities.
