Fujian's Fuzhou Port Establishes New Sea-Land Transport Route for Non-Ferrous Metals

Deep News09:10

A batch of imported unrefined crude copper from Malaysia has recently arrived at Qingzhou Port in Mawei, Fuzhou. This marks the first import operation of unrefined crude copper in Fuzhou, indicating the successful implementation of the first "single-document-through" sea-land multimodal transport business in the Fuzhou Free Trade Zone under the joint inspection and supervision model of "port + destination." The shipment, weighing approximately 54 tons with a value close to 10 million yuan, was transferred to a bonded warehouse in the Fuzhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone after completing customs clearance procedures upon unloading. It will be dispatched according to the needs of downstream enterprises, achieving seamless integration of sea and land transport. The route involves shipping from Southeast Asian countries such as Malaysia and Thailand to Qingzhou Port in Mawei, with goods stored in the comprehensive bonded zone before being distributed to locations like Shangrao in Jiangxi Province. The upgrade of this import supply chain is attributed to the innovative "single-document-through" service of the Fuzhou Free Trade Zone. At the beginning of the new year, the Fuzhou Free Trade Zone Management Committee actively implemented the requirements of the provincial conference on optimizing the business environment, precisely addressing the demand of Shangrao's refined copper processing enterprises for large-scale imports of crude copper from overseas. Leveraging its regional advantages, the zone proactively provided services to attract and retain businesses through continuously optimized services. To resolve challenges related to cross-regional customs clearance, the Fuzhou Free Trade Zone meticulously developed a "one-stop" service. According to Yu Wei, a relevant department head in the zone, efforts have focused on innovating circulation services for imported metal raw materials, strengthening cross-department coordination, and collaborating with entities such as Mawei Customs, the Free Trade Zone Tax Bureau, and Fuzhou Port Group to establish an integrated workflow system covering rapid customs clearance, bonded storage, sampling inspection, and distribution transport.
