On July 24th, China Southern Power Grid Company (Southern Grid) and Bank of China formally entered into a strategic cooperation agreement in Guangzhou.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Southern Grid Chairman and Party Secretary Qian Zhaoyang, alongside Bank of China Chairman and Party Secretary Ge Haijiao. The agreement was signed on behalf of both parties by Southern Grid's Party Leadership Member and Chief Accountant Shan Shulan, and Bank of China's Party Leadership Member and Vice President Yang Jun.
Prior to the signing, both sides held productive discussions. Qian Zhaoyang welcomed Ge Haijiao and his delegation, expressing gratitude for Bank of China's sustained support for Southern Grid's operations. Qian emphasized that Southern Grid is firmly implementing the directives of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and the State Council, deepening the integration of finance to promote and strengthen its core industries. The company is focused on enhancing its core functions and competitiveness to better contribute to building a strong energy nation.
Standing at the new starting point of the "15th Five-Year Plan," Qian Zhaoyang stated that Southern Grid is eager to collaborate with Bank of China in several key areas: deepening green finance cooperation to accelerate the construction of a new energy system, new power system, and new grid; advancing technology finance cooperation to better link the innovation chain with the capital chain; strengthening industrial finance cooperation to persistently drive the integration of production and innovation; and expanding international finance cooperation to jointly explore global markets.
Ge Haijiao thanked Southern Grid for its ongoing support of Bank of China and congratulated the company on its developmental achievements. He noted that in recent years, Bank of China and Southern Grid have engaged in multi-faceted, pragmatic cooperation, achieving fruitful results in areas such as green finance, technology finance, and international business. Taking this signing as an opportunity, Bank of China will continue to fully leverage its advantages in global operations and full-chain services. The bank aims to provide comprehensive support for Southern Grid's goal of becoming a world-class enterprise, jointly creating a new benchmark for "finance + energy" cooperation, and making greater contributions to building a strong energy nation.
Relevant department heads and unit leaders from both organizations participated in the event.
