China Gas Holdings Limited announced a board reshuffle effective 20 October 2026. Executive Director Zhao Kun has resigned to focus on other business commitments and will relinquish his seat on the Executive Committee. The board expressed appreciation for his contributions and confirmed there were no disagreements or outstanding matters related to his departure.
Taking his place, the board appointed Zhu Xu, aged 41, as Executive Director, Executive Committee member and Chief Compliance Officer. Zhu joins from Beijing Gas Group Co., Ltd., where he has accumulated more than 15 years of experience across engineering construction management, planning and project oversight. His previous roles at Beijing Gas Group ranged from department manager to general manager of the company’s third branch.
Zhu holds a bachelor’s degree in Ammunition Engineering and Explosive Technology and a master’s degree in Engineering Mechanics from Beijing Institute of Technology, as well as an MBA from Renmin University of China. Under a three-year appointment letter, he will receive a monthly salary of HK$0.20 million plus a discretionary bonus determined by the board’s remuneration committee.
Beijing Enterprises Group Company Limited, parent of Beijing Gas Group, is a substantial shareholder of China Gas Holdings with 1.29 billion shares, representing 23.60% of issued share capital. Zhu himself holds no shares in either Beijing Enterprises Group or China Gas Holdings.
In line with company bye-laws, Zhu will serve until the next annual general meeting, when he will be eligible for re-election, and will thereafter be subject to retirement by rotation at least once every three years.
