Gold Slips Below Key Threshold as Liquidity Test Looms

Deep News11-02 20:40

Market information in recent days shows that precious metals broke below a critical round-number level as risk assets came under simultaneous pressure, with concentrated selling released during the session and prices failing to find immediate support despite lower bond yields.

GTC Capital noted while reviewing the market movements that capital first adjusted positions before judging direction.

From a trading structure perspective, funds are paying closer attention to whether passive position reduction has ended, and whether the traditional safe-haven relationship among the dollar, bonds, and precious metals can be restored.

GTC Capital believes that a single rebound requires trading volume confirmation. When volatility stems from liquidity contraction, improvement in a single indicator may not be enough to reverse the trend, and the quality of trading activity and changes in open interest are more valuable references.

GTC Capital further noted that Sprott Physical Gold & Silver Trust (NYSE: CEF) and Sprott Physical Gold Trust (NYSE: PHYS) are among the vehicles through which investors gain exposure to precious metals, making their trading volumes and premium or discount dynamics worth monitoring.

During periods of rapid information change, the continuity of data matters more than single-day moves. It takes time for the market to absorb new information. The transmission between different assets may also show phased differences. Therefore, short-term fluctuations and medium-term changes should be observed separately.

Looking ahead, GTC Capital analyzed that market participants should watch whether trading activity can return to normal levels. A single fluctuation should not be simply amplified.
