S&P Dow Jones Indices has placed Indonesia on a watchlist for a potential adjustment to its market classification, stating that it may consider special treatment for Indonesian securities if conditions deteriorate.
The company noted it is continuing to monitor developments related to shareholding transparency in Indonesia, as well as the accompanying guidance from the Indonesia Stock Exchange aimed at addressing disclosure concerns and potential liquidity impacts.
S&P Dow Jones Indices stated that if these issues remain unresolved within a calendar year, it will evaluate Indonesia's market classification in its next annual review.
Turkey and Nigeria have also been listed as countries where market classification may be adjusted.
