Gotion High-Tech Commences Mass Production and Delivery of Standard Battery Cells for Volkswagen Platforms

On November 21, Gotion High-Tech Co., Ltd. held a mass production and delivery ceremony for its standardized battery cells (also known as Unified Cell or UC) in Hefei. This milestone marks the full-scale mass production phase of the five-year strategic collaboration between Volkswagen Group, its battery manufacturer PowerCo, and Gotion High-Tech.

From 2026 to 2032, Gotion High-Tech will supply Volkswagen Group with high-performance lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and other standardized battery cells. Zhang Hongli, Director of Gotion High-Tech and Chairman of its Hefei base, stated that batch deliveries of the standardized cells began in the second half of this year.

Gotion High-Tech is closely collaborating with multiple project teams from Volkswagen Group and PowerCo to advance mass production and deliveries. During the ceremony, the company also unveiled a battery pack system developed based on the standardized cells. In addition to supplying Volkswagen with UC products, Gotion High-Tech will progressively provide battery solutions for multiple Volkswagen Group platforms.
