Bank of East Asia Adds 1.89 Million Shares in April; Outstanding Options Reach 47.45 Million

For the month ended 30 April 2026, Bank of East Asia reported a net increase of 1.89 million ordinary shares, expanding its issued share capital to 2.64 billion shares. No treasury shares were held or cancelled during the period.

Key share movements • Share option exercise: 393,635 new shares were issued under the 2021 Staff Share Option Scheme, generating HKD 3.84 million in proceeds. • Scrip dividend: 1.49 million new shares were issued at HKD 14.018 per share.

Share option positions at month-end • 2016 Scheme – outstanding options: 9.43 million after 3.02 million options lapsed during the month. • 2021 Scheme – outstanding options: 55.10 million following 6.64 million options granted, 50,000 lapsed and 393,635 exercised. • Aggregate shares that could be issued upon full exercise of all outstanding options: 47.45 million.

Regulatory compliance The bank confirmed that public float remained above the 25% threshold required by the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. All share issuances were duly authorised and complied with applicable rules and regulations.

The reporting date for submission was 4 May 2026, and the disclosure was signed by Company Secretary Law Chun Tak, Alson.
