CRO concept stocks are leading gains, with GENSCRIPT BIO (01548) up 6.44% to HK$24.46, WUXI APPTEC (02359) rising 5.36% to HK$202.8, WUXI BIO (02269) climbing 5.02% to HK$48.16, and PHARMARON (03759) advancing 4.15% to HK$28.62.
The rally follows an announcement from WUXI APPTEC that the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia granted its preliminary injunction motion on August 7. This ruling prevents the U.S. Department of Defense from enforcing the company's inclusion on the 1260H list or taking any related actions while the lawsuit proceeds. The company stated that the decision shields it from immediate adverse effects tied to the 1260H designation during the litigation.
On the earnings front, several leading CRO firms have reported first-half results significantly exceeding expectations. WUXI APPTEC posted first-half 2026 revenue of RMB 28.897 billion, a 38.93% year-on-year increase, with net profit attributable to shareholders reaching RMB 11.08 billion, up 29.43%. The company has raised its full-year 2026 guidance for continuing operations, lifting the revenue growth forecast from 18%-22% to 35%-39%. PHARMARON saw a more than 30% surge in new contract signings in the first half, while Asymchem reported a 127.59% jump in on-hand order value at the end of Q1, with overseas orders accounting for 58.42% of the total.
