Wuxi Huishan Hosts Artificial Intelligence Plus Manufacturing Innovation Ecosystem Conference

Deep News11-02 21:20

Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of the State Key Laboratory of Intelligent Manufacturing Equipment and Technology Ding Han, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Director of the Institute of Industrial Artificial Intelligence under the Chinese Academy of Sciences Yu Haibin, Vice Mayor Zhou Wendong, and district leaders Cheng Song, Tao Bo, Qiu Xiaodong, Shao Lianrong, and Feng Liang attended the event.

Turning manufacturing assets into intelligent strength

As artificial intelligence moves from a general-purpose technology to an industrial technology, the reshaping of manufacturing follows close behind. For Huishan, the ticket to entry for this transformation is precisely its solid manufacturing foundation. Huishan District started out in manufacturing and has gathered 70 percent of the nation's industrial categories, more than 14,000 industrial enterprises, and an above-scale industrial output value of nearly 280 billion yuan. In recent years, the district has firmly grasped artificial intelligence plus manufacturing as a key lever to advance high-quality industrial development.

In terms of computing power, it has built the province's first large-scale 10,000-card intelligent computing cluster and landed the city's only domestic intelligent computing center. Moore Threads is rooted in Huishan, while the 58th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group, Jiangfeng Electronics, and Pengding Holdings connect the entire integrated circuit chain. An independent computing ecosystem of domestic models, domestic chips, and domestic applications is accelerating into shape. In terms of data, it has built the province's first embodied intelligent robot data collection cluster, turning massive industrial data into hard-core fuel that drives intelligent evolution. In terms of scenarios, it promotes robots entering workshops. Tianqi and Kaiqi humanoid robots are being piloted on SAIC Maxus complete vehicle production lines, and Dicastal Wheel Hub has built China's first intelligent aluminum alloy wheel hub factory. One real scenario after another translates the technological advantages of artificial intelligence into Huishan manufacturing's development advantages, efficiency advantages, and competitive advantages.

The critical leap from laboratory to workshop

In Huishan, artificial intelligence plus manufacturing mainly relies on benchmark institutions such as the Wuxi Research Institute of Huazhong University of Science and Technology to advance deep integration of artificial intelligence technological innovation and industrial innovation. The Jiangsu Provincial Key Laboratory of Embodied Intelligent Robot Industrial Applications, which was unveiled that day, is led by Tianqi and jointly approved for preparation with Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Jiangnan University. It will focus on five major directions: industrial data, perception and decision-making, collaborative control, skill training, and standard verification. Relying on Wuxi's rich automotive manufacturing scenario resources, it aims to build China's first provincial-level key laboratory for embodied intelligent robots centered on industrial applications.

The laboratory lays the technological foundation, while the pilot testing platform opens the last mile of scientific and technological achievement transformation. At the event, Zhiyuan Jiangsu Embodied Intelligence Industrial Base, Shanghai Flexiv Robotics Technology, the Xiganghu Robot Dexterous Intelligence Research Institute, and Wuxi Puying Data Technology jointly built the Embodied Intelligence Industry Co-creation Center and Pilot Verification Platform. It will link upstream and downstream industry chains, promote application implementation and scaled replication, and accelerate the conversion of scenario advantages into industrial competitive advantages.

Connecting real demand with real supply

The core of a conference is to truly connect the two ends of supply and demand. In the keynote sharing session, Academician Ding Han gave a presentation on Prospects for the Embodied Intelligence Industry. Academician Yu Haibin explained Artificial Intelligence-Driven Next-Generation Intelligent Manufacturing, expanding ideas for advancing integrated practice. In the results release session, Hengtong Digital Technology, Lingshu Intelligence, Wuxi University, JD Logistics, Guoxia Technology, Zhongheng Dayao, and Xijian Technology respectively released related achievements, covering industrial AI-enabled lighthouse intelligent manufacturing, systematic application of multi-agent systems in intelligent manufacturing scenarios, development of agent technology and security capability building, implementation of artificial intelligence in logistics scenarios, integrated application of energy manufacturing and operations, intelligent upgrading of traditional industries, and AI-enabled equipment design.

Particularly noteworthy is that the conference simultaneously released the Huishan District artificial intelligence service provider resource pool, bringing together 17 key units including the Wuxi Research Institute of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, SDIC Integration (Wuxi) Technology, and Wuxi Huabiao Software. It focuses on empowering diverse scenarios such as online intelligent inspection, smart warehousing, and digitalization of clinical research. At the same time, it launched a open call for bids list, sorting out 15 real enterprise needs covering four major categories of scenarios: research and development design, production and manufacturing, operations management, and quality inspection. Service providers with technology and solutions are sincerely invited to actively take on the challenges.

Only precise matching of supply and demand can lead to collaborative problem-solving, a relevant official said. Huishan District will take this conference as an opportunity to continue building exchange and cooperation platforms, promote supply-demand matching, drive collisions of cutting-edge technology exchanges, precise matching of innovative resources, and rooting of application scenarios, activate a strong engine for high-quality development with the power of digital intelligence, and accelerate the building of a highland for an artificial intelligence plus manufacturing innovation ecosystem.
